About the Role

IronVale Resources is seeking a Community Engagement Coordinator to join our growing People & Community team. This role is essential to our commitment to building and maintaining respectful, collaborative relationships with Traditional Owners and local communities across our operations in the Pilbara and Goldfields-Esperance regions.

As we expand our portfolio from iron ore into critical minerals, particularly with our lithium project approaching final investment decision, we need someone who can navigate complex stakeholder relationships with cultural sensitivity and genuine respect for Traditional Owner heritage and connection to country.

You'll be based in our Perth headquarters but travel regularly to site (approximately 40% of your time), working closely with Traditional Owner groups, local communities, government agencies, and our operational teams to ensure meaningful consultation and engagement throughout all phases of our projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Traditional Owner Engagement: Lead consultation processes with Traditional Owner groups for both existing operations and new project development, ensuring compliance with Native Title requirements and cultural heritage protocols
  • Stakeholder Relationship Management: Develop and maintain relationships with community leaders, local government representatives, and advocacy groups across the Pilbara and Goldfields regions
  • Cultural Heritage Support: Coordinate cultural heritage assessments and clearance processes, working with Traditional Owner representatives and our Sustainability team led by Dr. Ravi Mehta
  • Community Investment Programs: Manage and evaluate community investment initiatives, including education partnerships, local procurement programs, and capacity-building projects
  • Reporting & Compliance: Maintain comprehensive engagement records, prepare regular stakeholder reports, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company commitments
  • Internal Coordination: Work closely with site teams, including Pete Drummond at Pilbara East, to integrate community considerations into operational planning and decision-making

What You'll Bring

Essential Requirements: - Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences, Anthropology, Indigenous Studies, or related field - Minimum 3 years' experience in community engagement, preferably in mining or resources sector - Demonstrated experience working respectfully with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities - Strong understanding of Native Title processes and cultural heritage requirements in Western Australia - Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to engage diverse stakeholders - Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to remote locations - Cultural awareness training or equivalent experience

Highly Regarded: - Previous experience with mining project development and approvals processes - Knowledge of lithium or critical minerals sector - Established relationships with Traditional Owner groups in WA - Experience with community impact assessment and management - Proficiency in stakeholder mapping and engagement planning tools
